ETHERNET CABLE

Ethernet cables transmit data between electronic equipment within many different types of computer and telecommunications systems. Ethernet cable standards are set out by the Electronic Industries Association and Telecommunications Industry Association (known as the EIA/TIA). Cat5 is an unshielded twisted pair (UTP) data cable and is the most recent standard for twisted pair Ethernet cable and the most popular in use today.

Cat3 Ethernet cable is a UTP data cable designed to carry data at 10Mbps and was used for computer networks until the faster Cat5 standard became popular. Although Cat5 has supplanted cat 3 Ethernet cable for computer network applications, it is still a popular data cable for many telecommunications applications. Tevelec can supply category 3 data cable, shielded or unshielded, sheathed in flame retardant semi-rigid PVC.

CATEGORY 5 ETHERNET CABLES

Cat5 Ethernet cable contains four pairs of copper wire, of which two pairs are used for communication at 100Mbps. However, the newer Cat5e cable standard utilizes all four twisted pairs and offers Gigabit Ethernet speeds up to 1000Mbps.

Tevelec supplies four different types of Category 5e UTP 100 MHz or 350MHz voice and data Ethernet cable. Cat 5e UTP voice and data Ethernet cable is used for voice, data, 10 – 1000 Base-T, 4/16 Mbps Token Ring, 52/155 MBPS ATM, and T1 applications.

If your application requires extending a computer connection between buildings either suspended aerially or buried, we can supply Outdoor Aerial Burial Ethernet cables. These Ethernet cables are designed to be used outdoors and used for voice, data (up to 100 BASE-T), and analog and digital video applications.We can also supply category 5e Ethernet flexible patch cable for short connections between computer networking and telecom equipment. These Ethernet patch cables can be used for voice, data, 10 BASE-T (IEEE 802.3), 4/16 Mbps Token Ring (IEE 802.5), 52/155 MBPS ATM, 100 VG AnyLan, 100 Mbps TP-PMD (ANSI X3T9.5), 100 BASE-T (IEEE 802.3), and T1 applications.

We also provide several types of Category 6 UTP Ethernet cables suitable for use for data, 10 BASE-T, 100 Base-T, 1000 Base-T, T1 applications, broadband and baseband analog video and digital video.
