Founded by Joseph C. Belden in Chicago in 1902 as the Belden Wire & Cable company earned the industry's respect and renown for making reliable
wire and cable products of the highest quality. In July of 2004, Belden merged with Cable Design Technologies Corporation to form Belden Inc., now the largest U.S.-based
manufacturers of high-speed electronic cables and focuses on products for the specialty electronics and data networking markets.
The company has since grown rapidly through mergers and acquisitions, buying complementary firms around the world and bringing them together under the
Belden brand. Belden is a customer focused company with expertise in Enterprise, Industrial, Infrastructure, Transportation, Professional and Enterprise Audio and Video, and
Government applications.
